 Authoritarian regimes often seek to control and manipulate people's :

thoughts, 

opinions, 

and expressions 

through coercion and force. 

7 Dangers to Women

1. Discrimination (racism, misogyny, sexism, religious intolerance) 

Most authoritarian systems discriminate against women, reinforcing patriarchal norms and limiting their social, economic, and political opportunities. 

 

This:

• perpetuates gender inequality 
• traps women in subservient roles and 
• denies them access to education, healthcare, employment, and decision-making positions.

2. Lack of Freedom (the opposite of liberation) 

Coerced and compelled speech restricts:

•  freedom of thought, 
• individual autonomy, and 
• the right to express oneself freely.

3. Misuse of Power

Authoritarian leaders tend to concentrate power in their hands and those close to them, leading to a lack of accountability. 

This can result in:

• misuse of authority, 
• including physical and sexual abuse, 
• exploitation, and 
• violence against women, children, 
• and vulnerable adults without adequate recourse or justice.
