Have you ever had to clean up something really fast? You throw that pile of clothes in the closet, hide things under the couch cushion, take a swipe at the dust people can see, spray too much air freshener, ..........
That's what our leaders, who truly don't want to or don't know how to do the work of diversity and inclusion in an ever-changing society.
Post #MeToo, much is expected of leaders and organizations.
They have decided that the easiest way to deal with sexism, misogynoir, and misogyny is to do a rush clean-up job that "looks" diverse and inclusive on the surface. At first glance.
Incompetent leaders will get rid of all life-saving safeguards, necessary accommodations, & sports for women and call it "inclusive".
They don't think we can see that sexism & misogynoir/misogyny that they haven't dealt with.
OR that they can't effectively lead a diverse population.
I wonder if they know, or even care, that they are actually making things worse.
Now, I will always work to help uplift, mentor, & share my platforms w/male victims/Survivors of abuse & rape.
Not for anyone else.
Not to "look" good.
Not to feel good.
I happen to
love boys & men very much.
And, quiet as it is kept, I take quite a bit of heat for including boys & men in my work to end violence and abuse.
That said, female human beings are oppressed, controlled, silenced, raped & abused, FAR MORE often & brutally b/c of our sex.
Female human
beings, women & girls, face more widespread abusive violence and control
because we came into this world as human beings who are female.
Not because of any material thing we wear or adorn ourselves with on this planet.
Pretending not to know that female human beings are more likely to be viciously violated because of our sex, will not make anyone safer.
We MUST be
inclusive of the needs of all female human beings & that starts with being
genuine, sincere, honest, compassionate, & empathetic.
Note to struggling leaders and organizations: Hire female consultants who are experts in dealing with issues of misogyny, misogynoir, and sexism. Pay them well!
