We are living through a time where children, especially girls, are taught that boundaries are "hate".
That's extremely dangerous.
Why Get Angry About Women and Girls Fighting for Safety and Equality? | WE Survive Abuse
Girls are being told that being "uncomfortable" with males in their spaces-especially when they might be partially or fully nude- is "hate".
Girls are learning that asking questions to help them do an accurate safety assessment is "hate".
No questions allowed just shut up & deal.
Even in locker rooms at school, not all girls & women feel comfortable being partially or fully nude with other women. That's certainly not hate.
Tale as old as time and there are millions on millions of women & girls walking around having experienced some version of this.
When I posted this on social media, another user brought up a great point. She talked about how there has always been resistance to girls putting up boundaries in their lives.
We agreed that we must continue to prepare girls for this reality and give them the proper tools to overcome it.
- To know that they are indeed valuable and worthy of respect and dignity.
- To know that no matter what anyone else says, they always have the right to say "no".
- To know that the safe adults in their lives will stand by them and protect them.
Divorcing children from their values, beliefs, & moral teachings isn't "tolerance, diversity, or inclusion."
Authentic diversity & inclusion brings together people from diverse backgrounds, values, & beliefs in harmony.
Harmony, not take over.
Women and girls are entitled to boundaries, beliefs, values, and comfort-especially when it comes to our health and safety. In the doctor's office, in the workplace, in school, and at home. Health and safety is the human right of every woman and girl on this planet.
Final note: I realize that some of the most staunch enforcers of diminished boundaries for women and girls are actually other women and girls.
Know that many of them have now been groomed so effectively that they are now "believers". Please find it somewhere in you to keep fighting for women and girls anyway.
