You Are Enough Even if “All You Do” Is Win the Battles Within

There’s so much to do, so many people in need.

Humanity has such a long to-do list. It takes time, effort, compassion, empathy, giving a damn, & money to change this messy world.

Trauma Survivors: please keep in mind that you are definitely needed. This world NEEDS Survivors to do the work to heal and be of service to others, but only if you are able.

Too many of us are no longer here because the work was just too heavy to handle on top of our own obstacles & challenges. And mind you, we didn’t request these challenges.

It’s awesome that we celebrate people who kept going in spite of their obstacles & challenges. I’m thankful to Survivors like, Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou, Queen Latifah, Vanessa Williams, Lady GaGa, Mary J Blige, Aaliyah, Oprah, and so many other women who not only survived abuse; but went on to do some incredible things for themselves and the community.

I am also, we are also, thankful for people who work extremely hard to deal with every uninvited thing that comes with surviving trauma.

None of us are called to be superheroes.  We are called to love, heal, help ourselves and the family members that we are responsible for.

I can’t stress enough, because I never want to take it for granted that: Healing. Overcoming. Hoping. Having Faith. is all incredibly hard.

Many of us battle our own mental health, physical disabilities,

….nightmares that don’t stop just because we have a presentation the next morning,

….panic attacks, anxiety, and ‘startle responses’ that know how to embarrass us at the worst times,

…headaches (migraines, tension headaches)

….Random grief anniversaries,

….Family dysfunction (generation after generation)

….Chronic & unrelenting pain,

….Substance use recovery and/or family history

You are enough!
