With over 24 years of service, Tonya GJ Prince is an expert in healing, preventing, and overcoming both domestic and sexual violence. Tonya is an author, activist, advocate, Survivor, speaker, counselor, & mentor. She is the founder & editor of WESurviveAbuse.com and SurvivorAffirmations.com.
Her work as a counselor in a domestic violence shelter inspired her to start BraidtheLadder.org. Braid the Ladder is a project which aids residents of shelters.
Tonya’s unique service emphasis has been dedicated to; crisis counseling, education, centering the voices of victims and cross-cultural empathy and storytelling.
She is a Survivor of child rape who, after many years of intentional healing, is far along in her journey of overcoming trauma.
Tonya GJ Prince holds a BS in Organizational Management & Development from Bluefield College.
